Even the greatest fighters can fall victim to dangerous driving conditions, and two-time welterweight boxing titlist Paul Williams was paralyzed following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident last month. William’s trainer indicated the Monday following the accident that the doctors had said Williams will never walk again, and that his boxing career is over.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. As Williams was on his way to his brother’s home to get ready for another brother’s wedding. Williams rode out of his lane on his motorcycle attempting to avoid a car which was merging into him apparently without seeing him, only to swerve back to avoid oncoming traffic. He then rode up a steep embankment, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed to the pavement on his back. Williams was rushed to the hospital after one of the other drivers called 911.

The ongoing complications from the accident will dramatically affect the rest of William’s life, and the New Jersey motorcycle accident lawyers at Levinson Axelrod recommend seeking legal representation immediately following an accident in order to protect your rights and interests.

A widow has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit after her husband was killed in a tent collapse in April.

The 58-year-old man suffered fatal neck and head injuries after the tent collapsed onto him and 100 others, causing 16 people to be sent to the hospital and dozens more to be treated at the scene.

The tent collapsed after heavy winds lifted the tent and pushed it into a railroad trestle. The lawsuit claims that the bar in which the tent was covering, was negligent in failing to inspect the tent properly before allowing customers to walk underneath it. Weather advisories were coming in at the time that stated that the weather may be dangerous and still customers were allowed underneath.

The suit also claims that Sun Rental Inc., was negligent in how they installed and inspected the tent that they put up. The city law requires that tents be able to withstand at least 90 mph winds.

In February, the state of Georgia and the city of Atlanta had one of the largest decreases in home sales in the country.

It was recently reported by CoreLogic, Inc., that home sales in the state of Georgia were down 6.6 percent and in Atlanta they fell 6.5 percent. Homes prices across the nation are down 2 percent from this time last year.

The top five states in the nation with depreciating home sales were Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Illinois and Georgia in that order. The states that had home sales with the highest appreciation were as follows, West Virginia, Michigan, Florida, Arizona, and South Dakota. In some areas of the country, homeowners look to make upgrades on their home instead of putting in on the market.

In order to make your homes more aesthetically pleasing or renovate it in order to raise its value. Austin carpet cleaners recommend cleaning the carpet by steam cleaning or vacuuming. Flooring is a very important aspect of the home and a great place to start a renovation.

Another beneficial remodeling aspect is the kitchen and bathrooms because they are two rooms that homeowners pay close attention to. This is important to be aware of if you are looking to resell your home at any time.

Grief counselors are on campus today at Chardon High School even though classes have not yet resumed. Students, teachers and community members will be meeting in town and walking toward the school in order to give students a chance to visit the school where tragedy struck just three days ago.

On Monday morning, just after 7:30 a.m., a 17-year-old gunman opened fire on the high school’s cafeteria and shot five students before a teacher was able to chase him away. Three of the gunshot victims succumbed from injuries sustained.

The teen lived with his maternal grandparents and neighbors have stated that they did not see any signs of the teen committing such a violent act. Officials have reason to believe that the gun used was taken from a relative’s barn. The teen will face criminal charges and most likley civil lawsuits from victim’s parents.

Two students at a North Atlanta high school have been suspended after allegedly bring ‘pot brownies’ to school and giving them to fellow students.

According to a spokesperson from Atlanta Public Schools, the alleged incident occurred on Jan. 23 when two girls brought the brownies, which were laced with marijuana, and passed them out to seven students. This incident comes just after another alleged ‘pot brownie’ incident occurred in Bogart.

The two teens have been charged with marijuana possession, a misdemeanor charge. The two students were ages 17 and 18 and both teens’ parents were notified of the incident. No students became ill as a result of eating the brownies, but they did feel the affects of the marijuana.

The new terminal at the Atlanta Airport may still open on time even though legal issues have caused some delays.

Officials involved with the terminal’s construction have stated that the terminal is still scheduled to open in the middle of May. The terminal has faced delays because of contract battles with restaurants and retail owners.

A judge in Fulton County stated that the companies that did not win contracts for the area can have 20 days to file protests, but officials have stated that it will not slow down the opening because lawyers will still be negotiating contracts with the winners.

The city of Atlanta runs the airport and are currently trying to line the new terminal with shops and restaurants. The judge also ordered that the city release other documents to the companies that do not win the contracts.
