A Douglas County deputy suffered minor injuries after a driver hit a parked police car while the officers were assisting a stop near Chapel Hill Road.
According to officials, the accident occurred as the officers pulled over another driver for a traffic violations and a woman collided with the police car. This collision caused a chain reaction and caused the police car to hit the deputy’s car.
The deputy jumped out of the way in order to avoid be pinned between the vehicles. Police questioned the woman after the accident and suspected that she may have been drinking and driving. An investigation into the accident is still underway at this time. Whether or not she was charged with a DUI after the accident is still being decided.
